August 2018 Favorites - Beauty Reviews

August has officially ended four days ago, but for me, summer doesn't feel over, yet. At the moment, I'm traveling. I'm visiting my relatives around the Croatian coast and it honestly feels so refreshing. I haven't been out of Dubrovnik since last winter holidays. And for me, to be in one place for a long time just doesn't sound like a good idea.

Anyhow, I can sense the back to school feel, since my cousins and some friends went back to it. I guess I'm the lucky one to be free this year!

Now, with August ending, it's time to do a monthly favourites tag! In the past month, I used a lot of new beauty products and that's why almost everything that I have on this list is from the beauty department, but there's one bracelet as well. After all, I've worked at a jewelry shop for more than 2 months.

1. Labello Original Classic Lip Balm

In July I have shown you the Labello vanilla buttercream and this time, I'm going with the original classic lip balm. It is the most simple and moisturizing lip balm I have ever tried and it keeps your lips soft in the warmer months, but also during the autumn when it's windy and cooler.

2. Catrice Longlasting Lip Pencil 170 Plumplona Ole

This pencil creates a wonderful dark pink color on your lips. It really enhances the lines and makes them look bigger, that's what pencils are there for, anyway. I like it a lot mainly because of the shade, it has a meaty look, but at the same time, it's not too dark. Definitely, give it a try.

3. Nivea MicellAIR Skin Breathe Expert Eye Make-up Remover Waterproof

After a long while, I've finally found a good makeup remover. This one from Nivea is a life-saver. It's very easy to apply, you just shake it a bit and then put it on a cotton coil and simply press it onto your eyelashes and let it stay a little bit. Repeat it for a few times and your makeup is removed! It actually removes pretty easily and quickly. You don't have to press too hard onto your skin because nobody wants wrinkles too soon.

4. Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter 200 Medium-Nude Glow

Before I start with the review, doesn't this photo look so aesthetically pleasing? It's gorgeous and so is this highlighter. It highlights just enough, not too much nor too little. I actually don't like highlighters that give too much shine, it really isn't my thing. I prefer a highlighter to be more subtle, but still present. And this one definitely does it.

5. Avon Color Trend Perfect & Hide Concealer Fair

If you are looking for a really good concealer, choose this one. This one comes in the fair shade and it's really perfect for me, the available shade is medium. So it doesn't have the greatest diversity in colors, anyway... It's really good if you have fair or medium skin tone. It really lightens the dark circles and hides your pimples as much as it can. Give a try!

6. L'Oreal Paris True Match Ultra-Perfecting Powder Golden Beige

I know that in the photo, it seems too dark, but in reality, it's not. The shade is officially called "golden beige" and it's actually really fair. My skin is pretty light, so it does fit me pretty well. I'm not a fan of powders, I prefer liquid foundations, but this one fits me so well! Try it yourself.

7. Garnier BB Cream Pure Active Light/Clair

This one, I have actually been using for months, but only this month did I realize how much I actually like it. I stopped wearing liquid foundation and chose to only apply BB cream on my face. And I haven't regretted it since! First of all, it's healthier for your skin and second, the finish look is literally the same as with the regular foundation. It moisturises the skin and covers the imperfections, what better could you possibly ask for?

8. L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Excess Lashes Noir

If you are looking for a great volume without clumps, this one is an ideal. L'Oreal is one of my favourite drugstore brands and this mascara is amazing! I honestly love every bit of it. I've been using it a lot in August and I'll continue to do so in September.

9. Maybelline New York Color Sensation 250 Mystic Mauve

Even though it looks pink on the photo, it's actually of a purplish color. Unlike my usual lipstick choices, this lipstick is a shimmer and not a matt. And I actually love it! It has a great unique color and shine, check it out yourself!

10. This bracelet!

Isn't it the cutest? I actually got for a gift so I can't tell you what's the brand or anything else, but since it's my August 2018 favorite, I had to share it. It is sparkly and has a lot of details, but it's still elegant and can be worn on almost any outfits.

So what do you think of my beauty favorites? Do you like them? Tell me in the comments!
